We are requesting donations (which are tax deductible) from our
membership to be part of a silent auction. In keeping with our
mission and the main interest of our members please consider donating
items that are antique or that relate to preservation. We all have
items that we thought would be perfect in our homes, but never quite
fit in. Something that you don't want to donate to Goodwill, but
haven't gotten around to selling at a garage sale. Research materials
that you've used but are now collecting dust, parts that you have
gathered which never made it into the house. The space available to
us is not very large, so we cannot accept items that are too large,
unless they are truly special. We could also take pictures of larger
items and display them (you would keep the item until after the
auction). We will be able to bundle smaller items into a basket. We
will be sending out more information, but as you start your spring
housecleaning, please consider what you would like to donate (we need
items by end of February).

Jack Osterberg and Bill Bender have offered their basement as a
collection site. The basement is dry and heated. Jack and Bill won't
be able to to pick up or deliver any of the items in their car.
Smaller pieces should be packed in a cardboard box. They will start
accepting items on Wednesday, Feb. 1st. Please call first to arrange
a drop-off time. You can leave a message with the answering machine
at 503-325-2204. Should you be unable to deliver your item, Pam Holen
has offered to pick it up.
